I'm usually hesitant to try Guyanese restaurants from the Bronx as the reviews are never great and one restaurant really just turned me off. But coconut palm bar and grill is surprisingly good. I've only tried the potato balls, polourie and chicken fried rice but overall they were good and I would get the polourie and chicken fried rice over and over again. The potato ball isn't your typical Sybil's potato ball which apart from being made at home is my favorite. But that's just a personal choice. Food was delivery too so that's a plus for me. It may be the time of day I ordered as it was during the week on an afternoon but I would recommend this restaurant being tried as it's not the worst. Would've taken pics also but I started eating then remembered to review lol. So yeah, TLDR: if you're not willing to drive to little Guyana in Queens, give them a try!
OMG!!!! I am totally in love with this place. My wife and I stoped in after a long time ordering from there and let me say this now... EVERY DISH WAS OUTSTANDING! So flavorful, so fresh just so darn good! We had a beer at the bar while waiting and the beer was nice and cold. The service was pleasurable and the FOOD WAS GREAT.. oh I said that already.. lol We will be back for sure.
